If I could only learn just one thing that would be the skill to learn.

Dr. Palash Sen from Euphoria

Dr. Palash Sen is the lead vocalist of the hugely popular Indian band Euphoria, as a part of which he pioneered the Hind-rock movement in the late 90's. A decade and four hit musical albums later, Euphoria's music has matured into a uniqueness that is characterized by a harmonious blend of the guitars, drums and keyboards on one side with the earthy Indian instruments and percussions on the other. And, untouched by the fame and success, Palash still remains entrenched in his middle class values.

Born to a Bengali father and a Kashmiri mother, Palash attributes his openness and flexibility to his exposure to varied cultures from early on. Palash seemed to have been destined to become a doctor, born as he was in the third generation of doctors in his family. He however chose to tamper with this script when he discovered during his college days that music was "much more than just a hobby to impress girls". So, in addition to becoming a Doctor (he still practices in the limited time he finds himself away from the hectic schedule of shows), he followed his passion for music and turned it into a highly successful journey of India's most popular band, Euphoria.

Palash turned down several Bollywood offers before he made his acting debut with Meghna Gulzar's Filhaal. He will soon be seen in another film - Bombay 11 - for which he has also composed and written. Palash's 'Sone de Ma' in the blockbuster 'Shootout at Lokhandwala' won rave reviews for its meaningful lyrics and melodious music.

Palash, who is a big hit especially with the young audiences in colleges across the nation because of his approachability, sense of humour and the connect that comes from his educational background, has recently become the brand ambassador for Roots Education, His role here would be to inspire the youth to not give up their education for their passion or vice-versa. He ofcourse has shown by example that one can excel at both. ''Music might have made me famous and successful but I take great pride in my education, because that has surely made me a better human being'', says Palash.

Doctor, singer, musician, song-writer, actor and now a brand ambassador for education... Palash continues to chase his dreams and doing the unconventional with great plan. Pursuing a dream is about having confidence in oneself and strength of spirit to pull you through difficult times when it would be tempting for most to just throw in the towel and walk away. Sen has seen it all - and he has emerged victorious in each such battle - and how!

And the doctor's Mantra in life, as captured in one of his songs:

"Hai saanson ka aadhaar kya, aur zindagi ka saar kya Bas Jaan lo hai pyaar kya, hai ye mera mantra" Top
