CAT 2010 NOTIFICATION

The notification  for the course of  Post Graduate  Programme  in Management   (PGP) 2011-2013 and  Fellow programme in Management  (FPM)  offered by the IIMs at Ahmedabad,  Bangalore, Kolkata,  Lucknow,  Indore,  Shillong,   Kozhikode,  Ranchi,  Rohtak  is  released  with  following details. There  will be 147  Non-IIM institutes  accepting  CAT scores and having  their  own process of selection after that.

DATE OF  TEST

27th  October, 2010 to 24th November, 2010.

The testing will have 2 sessions. Session timings are as follows:

Session 1: Testing will begin at 10 AM and end at 12:30 PM. Candidate check-in will commence from 8 AM. Candidates are required  to arrive  at the test centre no later  than 8:30 AM

Session 2: Testing will begin at 3:30 PM and end at 6 PM. Candidate check-in will commence from 1:30 PM. Candidates are required to arrive at the test centre no later than 2:00 PM.

DETAILS OF THE TEST

The duration  of the test  is 2 hours and 30 minutes including initial 15 minute tutorial. No breaks will be given during the test. The test consists of questions that evaluate a candidate’s quantitative, verbal, and logical & data interpretation abilities. There will be about 60 questions in the test.

The  written test will be held at 33 centres across India. Please visit http://www.catiim.in/test_centres.html for more information on test centres. Based on the marks of Written Test, a limited number of candidates will be invited for second phase of selection process.

ELIGIBILITY

The candidate  must hold  a Bachelor’s  Degree,  with at  least  50% marks or equivalent  CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) categories]. Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent  qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. Prospective candidates must maintain a valid and unique email account throughout the selection process.

HOW TO  APPLY

The steps are given below:

1. Obtain CAT vouchers from selected branches of Axis Bank for Rs 1400  (Rs 700 for SC/ST candidates). Please visit http://catiim.in/axisbank_branch.html for branches of Axis Bank. The vouchers must be bought only in the name of the candidate  as it appears in the school leaving certificate.
2. On purchasing the voucher, you must visit the website www.catiim.in to register for CAT2010. After filling in the  form, and submitting your personal  information during the online application, an automated confirmation email, which will  contain your Application Summary, will be sent to the email address provided by you.
3. After submitting your personal information, you are expected to continue registration by scheduling your test date, test time, and venue. Once you have submitted this scheduling information,  a 2nd automated confirmation email, which will contain your CAT 2010 Admit Card, will be sent to the email address provided  by you. Only at  this stage is your CAT 2010 registration complete. The admit card will contain the name of the candidate, test date, time, venue, confirmation number, CAT Registration Number / Testing ID and instructions for the candidate.
